Haul: Maybelline Dare To Go Nude Limited Edition Collection

Hello lovelies,
The other day I finally stumbled upon Maybelline's highly sought after Dare To Go Nude Collection at my local Walgreens. I didn't pick up the entire collection but I did get a few things so I thought that I would share with you what I got.

Left: Nude Compliment Right: Beige-ing Beauty

Top: Bare It Buff
Bottom: Taupe Tease

Bare It Buff (Swatched without primer)

Taupe Tease (Swatched without primer)

Overall thoughts: The Color Tattoos are perfect as always. I especially love Beige-ing Beauty. I only wish that they put out at least a few matte colors with this collection but oh well. The eyeshadow quads are a bit more powdery than I have come to expect from the eyestudio line, more so with the Taupe Tease one. The one in Bare it Buff is beautiful though. The camera really doesn't do the second color in that quad justice. It has a great iridescence to it. I'm really happy with that one. Both of the lip products are perfect as well. I think that they will look great together too.

Well, that's all for today. Have you gotten anything from this collection? Do you want to?

Until next time...

My Top 10 Single Eyeshadows

Hello to all my lovely readers,
Today I would like to share with you my top 10 single eyeshadows.
So, let's get right into it.

1: Hard Candy Single & Loving it in Unattached
This is a beautiful bright light green color with a little bit of yellow in it that is perfect in the Spring. I like to wear this all over the lid with a light brown in the crease & a shimmery white color in the inner corner. I highly recommend that you pick this one up if you are a green eyeshadow lover like I am.

2: Wet N Wild Coloricon Single in Brulee
I think that at this point everyone knows about this shadow. It's a little bit difficult to see in the swatch because it is so close to my skin color. Yeah, I'm pale. It's great as an under the brow highlight & all over the lid or if you have a darker skin color I think that it would be pretty as an inner corner highlight.

3: Wet N Wild Coloricon Single in Envy
This is a beautiful mossy green color. It's gorgeous used in a smokey look or as liner. My favorite way to wear it is to line my eyes with a green pencil liner then set it with this shadow.

4: Wet N Wild Coloricon Single in Nutty
Don't worry this is the last Wet N Wild one. It is a taupey brown which is a great everyday color. It's also makes a great one shadow look when you place it all over the lid & then build it up a little more in the crease. You just can't go wrong with this one.

5: NYX Single eyeshadow in Cherry
This is a great red with a bit of pink in it. I love it so much. I don't have anything else like it in my collection. It has what I would call a satin finish. It isn't matte but it isn't very shimmery either so it look good on the lid or the crease. You could also use this as a one shadow look by putting it lightly on the lid which gives it more of a pink then adding more in the crease to give it more of that red look. It's great & if you are more daring with your shadow then I highly recommend pick this baby up.

6: ELF Studio Line Single Baked Eyeshadow in Moonlight Serenade
This is a white shadow with a gold shift that is stunning in person. Since this is a baked shadow I have swatched it dry (left) & wet (right). When applied dry more of the white shows up & then when you apply it wet more of the gold shows through. This is my favorite inner corner highlight. This color can work for any skintone so the next time you place an order with ELF pick this up!

7: L'OREAL Infallible Eyeshadow in Glistening Garnet
This is a great berry color. It is another one of those colors that isn't for the faint of heart but it is SO beautiful. One of my favorite ways to wear this one is to put a color like Wet N Wild's Brulee all over the lid then use this in the crease & make a "cut crease" look. So beautiful.

8: L'OREAL Infallible Eyeshadow in Iced Latte
This is a classic champagne color. I have several other shades that compare to this in shade but not in texture which is why I picked this one over those others. It is just so smooth & gives a great shine on the lids that really brightens the eyes. It's great as a lid color & a inner corner highlight. I've heard from several other people that this is a dupe for Stilla's Kitten. I don't have that color so I can't personally testify to that but just something to keep in mind. You can see me use this in a FOTD here.

9: L'OREAL Infallible Eyeshadow in Eternal Sunshine
This is a great gold color that I think can work well for any skintone. This is a great summer shade. I personally don't have any other golds in my collection that are quite like this one. It's a bright gold that to me makes it a bit unique for the drugstore.

10: Mark i-mark Wet/Dry Eyeshadow in Luv Struck
This is a great bright pink shadow. I have swatched it dry (left) & wet (right) since it is advertised as a wwet/dry shadow even though it isn't baked. When applied wet it has more of a metallic finish which is really pretty. If you tried these Mark shadows back in the day & didn't care for them then I say try it again. They have recently reformulated them & they are VERY improved.

Honorable mention: Wet N Wild Coloricon Single in Kitten
This reason that this shadow is an honorable mention & not in the top 10 is that it was recently discontinued! I wanted to cry when Wet N Wild got rid of this gem because it is one of my favorites all around. This is actually my second one. I had to repurchase because I used my other one completely up. It's a great light purple shade which is again perfect for Spring. It's a great lid color. I think that this is a good color for someone who usually only wears neutrals to break into more colorful shadows with since it is a light purple. I'm super sad that they took this away but I wanted to mention it because I have seen a few still lingering in some of my local drugstores.

Well, that's all my favorites. I hope that this was helpful. What are some of your favorite single eyeshadows?

Until next time...

L.A. Colors 3 color eyeshadows

Hello fellow makeup junkies,

Today I want to talk to you about L.A. Colors' 3 color eyeshadows. According to the website these are "A trio of long-wearing eyeshadows in one chic palette. Three expertly coordinated shades can be worn alone or together to create a array of looks. Complete with dual ended applicator." There are 12 trios in this range total & I currently have 4 of them. Here is a link to them from the L.A. Colors website:

I found mine at the Dollar Tree & Dollar General. At both locations I only paid $1.00 which is a good deal. The Dollar General does typically have a better selection of L.A. Colors in general so if you want to try these or anything else from the brand they are your best bet.

Now lets take a look at the ones that I have.

Top Left: Iris
Top Right:Orchid
Bottom Left: Water Lily
Bottom Right: Magnolia

Now here are photos of each trio swatched without primer:

 Iris
This is a good one to get if you are into purples. The top shade is a mid-tone purple with just the slightest bit of blue in it, the middle one is more of a pinkish purple, & the bottom one is a dusty purple & my favorite from this trio.

 Orchid
This is a nice netural trio. The top shade is a bronze, the middle a light golden yellowish, & the bottom is a beautiful baby pink.

 Water Lily
This trio remind me of a mermaid & I think would be really nice for summer. The top shade is an almost minty blue if that makes sense, the middle is a super pretty pink with a hint of purple in it almost giving it a lilac feel, & the bottom shade is a very light blue to the point that it almost look white with a hint of blue flash.

Magnolia
This is my favorite trio so far. The top is a gorgeous coral shade that the camera just doesn't give justice to, the middle is an almost electric purple, & the bottom is a very light pastel yellow which is a great inner corner highlight.

As you can see these aren't the most pigmented shadows out there but I think they are really pretty especially considering these are only $1.00. All of the colors are shimmery but there isn't any actual chunks of glitter in any of the ones that I have.

Now here are photos each trio swatched over Rimmel's Exaggerate Undercover Shadow Primer:

 Iris

Orchid

Water Lily

Magnolia

As you can see they do have a bit more color pay off with a primer. The Rimmel primer does have a "glow" to it which works for these since they are already shimmery.

Now here are swatches of each trio over Milani's Shadow Eyez in Champagne Toast (which is a nude shimmery shade & almost blends into my skin tone):

Iris

Orchid

Water Lily

Magnolia

I defiantly recommend using these with a colored based because as you can see they have much better pay off with one.

I would recommend picking these up. I really like them & plan on getting a few more the next time I go to the Dollar General of stumble upon the at my Dollar Tree. L.A. Colors is a brand that I have enjoyed for years. They can be a little hit & miss but overall I don't think that they get enough credit. Like most other drugstore type brands they have really stepped their game up recently with the quality of their products not just with the eye shadows.

My favorite thing about these shadows? They are cruelty free! The entire L.A. Colors company is. Yeah for no animals being harmed!

I hope that you enjoyed today's post. Have you tried these trios or anything else from L.A. Colors lately?
