The Rainbow Tag!

Hello again beauty friends!
Today I have for you another tag. This one has been going around for a bit now & looked like fun. For those of you who aren't familiar with this tag you simply go through the colors of the rainbow & pick your favorite thing that is that color. Let's get started...

Red:

NYX single eyeshadow in Cherry. This is on of my favorite eyeshadows in my collection. It's such a fun color. It does have a bit of pink in it so it isn't super red which may make it a bit more wearable for some people who are otherwise scared off by a red eyeshadow.

Orange:

For orange I chose my favorite scent at the moment which is Wild Peach Poppies from Bath & Body Works. This smells wonderful. To me it is a light, fresh peach with just a hint of some type of floral note. It just might be my favorite scent from Bath & Body Works ever...too bad it was limited edition! That seems to always happen to me, the scents that I really fall in love with aren't around for too long & sadly this little beauty has already sold out. :(

Yellow:

For yellow I have another little gem from Bath & Body Works for you. It's their PocketBac in Jungle Fruit. The scent for this one is just a generic fruity smell but what makes it special for me are the little elephants! I have loved elephants since I was a baby. I have pretty much elephant everything. So, when I saw these in the store I just HAD to have some. I bought about 10, haha. Yeah, I went a little crazy but they change these out so much I didn't want to miss out on them.

Green:

For green I have another on of my favorite eyeshadows to share with you. It's Envy from Wet N Wild. What I usually do with this shadow is line my lash line with a green or black eyeliner & then set that liner with this shadow. It makes my hazel eyes look more green, which is something I'm always up for. It can also be a beautiful lid or crease color. You can even do a one shadow look with it by putting it all over the lid then blending it out into your crease. All around it's just perfect.

Blue:

For blue I have this wonderful tinted lip balm from MAC in the color Glace. This was from their Baking Beauties Collection. As you can see in the swatch above it doesn't show up very blue on the lips. It has that yummy vanilla smell that all MAC lip products seem to have...I'm not complaining though. This is rather sticky so if you aren't a fan of sticky lip glosses then I would say pass on this one. Also, I don't get why it's called a "lip balm" because to me it seems more like just a regular gloss. Either way though, I still love it.

Indigo:

For indigo I decided to go with this polish from Wet N Wild. It's from their Megalast line & the color is called On A Trip. I love painting my toes this color in the Spring & Summer months. It's just so pretty. I have painted my finger nails with this before but to be honest on me I prefer it on my toes. I have it on right now...I wouldn't subject you to a photograph of my feet though, haha.

Violet:

For violet I had to go with this beautiful color in the center of this LA Colors trio. The trio is called Magnolia (which is happens to be my favorite flower) & this violet/purple shade in the middle is to die for. I've had this trio for a little over a month now & if I'm feeling a purple eye this has been my go to shadow. I just can't get enough of it. Plus, the other shades are gorgeous as well.

Pink:

So, with this color I had to cheat a little bit & go with two products. I just couldn't decide between the two! The first one is something relatively new from Sally Hansen called Colorfast Tint + Moisture Balm. Mine is in the shade In The Pink. As you can see from the photograph above it is a nice neutral pink that would go with pretty much any eye look. It has good staying power & when they say moisture, they mean it. It makes my lips so smooth & soft. It has a very slight vanilla-ish scent to it but I can barely smell it even when holding it up to my nose. The other one is yet another Wet N Wild product. Can you tell I like them? This is from their Fergie collection & it's called To Reflect Shimmer Palette in the color Rose Champagne Glow. This has become my favorite highlight from the drugstore of all time (so far). The swatch above is a bit heavy so that you can see the color better but sheered out on top of the cheeks bones it is beautiful. It isn't exactly what I would consider a "natural" looking highlight to be but that's one of the things that I love about it. I personally a strong highlight on the cheeks & cupid's bow.

Multi-Color:

Again I had to cheat with this one & go with two products. They are just both so good I had share both. The one on the left is from Avon's Mark line & is called touch & glow shimmer cream cubes. I've had this for about a year now & I still find myself reaching for it quite often. It can be used to highlight anywhere on the face or even under eyeshadows. I like to use it best as a highlighter. Although this is a cream product it isn't a soft cream, which I like. The three swatches on the left of my hand a random colors & as you can see they can be quite pigmented or sheered out. The product on the right is another treasure from MAC's Baking Beauties Collection. It's a Pearlmatte Face Powder in Pink Buttercream. This is swatched to the right of my hand. As you can see when all of the colors are swatched to together it makes a silvery, pink, slight blue-ish color. The powder itself is so smooth & silky. It's also really pretty in the pan. It's defiantly my favorite high end highlighter & probably my favorite MAC product. This can be very sheered out for a more natural looking highlight or can be built up a bit for more of a dramatic highlight. Either way you wear it gives a lovely effect on the cheeks, cupid, eyebrow...wherever.

Since highlighters kind of took over this tag, what's your favorite highlighter?

And as always,
Stay True & Stay You...

NYX Love in Florence Palette

Hello Lovelies,

Yesterday I told you about another part of NYX's new "Love in..." collection. Today I have a palette from the Love in Florence part of the collection to show you. The name of this palette is "Eat, Love, Be Fab" & it is so pretty. There are 10 different palettes in this range & they each cost around $8.00 depending on where you purchase it. You can order it from the NYX website www.nyxcosmetics.com/, or at www.cherryculture.com/, you could also check your local Ulta store.

The NYX website say that this palette has shimmery & matte peach, browns, & green shadows.

This palette only has one matte shadow which is the brownish color in the top left corner. The other colors are quite shimmery. The eyeshadows themselves are awesome which is no surprise since this is from NYX. Overall I really like this. The green in this palette is possibly my favorite green shadow in my entire collection & I'm a big fan of green shadow. The only thing that is lacking in this palette for me personally is a highlight shade, preferably matte since there is already so much shimmer. I suppose that you could use a fluffy brush & use the golden shade very lightly as a highlight but I am just a fan of matte highlights under the brow. Again though, this is personal preference you may find that all you in is here.

See how pretty that green is? I'm seriously in love. The coral/peach color is rather lovely as well. I think that this palette could be great for all year round but something about that green & coral/peach color scream Spring to me.

Overall, I would say that if you have been on the fence about checking out anything from this range go for it. I'm a big fan of NYX products overall but their eyeshadows really stand out to me.

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Stay true & Stay you.

P.S. What's your favorite green eyeshadow?

NYX Cosmectics Love in Paris Palettes

Hello again beauty lovers,

Today I would like to talk to you about a somewhat recent eyeshadow collection from the brand NYX. The collection is called "Love in...". There are 3 parts to the collection. The first is "Love in Rio" which is 22 different trios. The next is the "Love in Florence" which is a 5 shadow palette offered in 10 different shades. The last part of this collection & the one that I will be talking to you about today is the "Love in Paris". These palettes have 9 shadows each & are offered in 12 different shades. The 2 shades that I have are "Let them eat cake" & "Pardon my french". Both palettes are $10.00 each & can be purchased at www.nyxcosmetics.com, www.cherryculture.com or possibly your local Ulta store.

(Left: Let Them Eat Cake, Right: Pardon My French)

Now, I don't think that it is any secret that NYX has some awesome eyeshadows. They are pigmented, soft, blend easily, have nice staying power & are super creamy.

Let Them Eat Cake is my favorite of the two that I have so far. I'm a big fan of pink eye shadows so this is perfect for me. The NYX's website describes this palette as shimmery & matte pinks, browns, & beiges. In the top row both of the pinkish shades are matte & the bottom row is entirely matte. The rest are shimmery.  The shades that stand out the most for me are the coral one in the middle, the pretty pink one in the middle row on the right, & the color in the top left corner. That one is a little hard to describe. It is sort of a muted mauve-ish, pinky color.

Pardon My French is a great neutral palette that offers some pops of color with the greens. The website describes this palette as shimmery beiges, golds, browns, & greens. Unfortunately, the dark brown in the right bottom corner got a bit cracked. Also, although the website says that all the shimmery the shadow that crack is matte to my eyes. My favorite shades in this palette are the green in the top row & the lovely gold on the bottom row.

Thanks for reading!

Stay True & Stay You.

P.S. Have you tried anything from this range yet? Would you like to?

Lip Loves.

I thought that today I would share with you some of the lip products that I have been loving lately.

The first one that I want to share with you is Revlon's Moon Drops Lip Conditioner. I see a lot of people talking about Revlon lip products & they should because they are awesome but I hardly ever see people mention the Moon Drops line. The line as a whole is meant to be lip color that also conditions your lips & it really does. The lip conditioner itself is awesome because it really does soften the lips while giving a nice shine to the lips without being overly glossy. The smell of the lip conditioner & the lipsticks in this line is that of the old fashion lipsticks. I personally love that smell. It reminds me of being a little girl & playing with my Grandma's make-up. Other may not enjoy the smell though. It isn't a particularly strong smell however. I can just barely smell it when applying it to my lips.

Next up is another Revlon product. It's from their Super Lustrous line in the new Shine finish & the color is Kissable Pink. I have tried a few lipsticks from the new Shine collection & overall I'm not super impressed. They are mostly super sheer & to be honest a few of the color barely show up on the lips. This color in Kissable Pink though is quite nice. It can be sheer if you want it to be but it can also be built up to give a nice color to the lips. This line of lipsticks from Revlon don't have a smell which I'm sure is good news for some of you. The staying power is just average. For me it has about the same staying power as a non sticky lipgloss but of course this will vary from person to person.

( Excuse the scratch on my hand. My dog & I were playing this morning.)

The last one is from Rimmel London's Moisture Renew line. They have some new colors out now & when I saw this one I knew that it was love at first sight. The color is Let's Get Naked & it is an absolutely gorgeous nude pink-ish color. This line is overall one of my favorites because they have good staying power & they are really comfortable on the lips since as the name suggests, they're moisturizing. They do have a slight smell to them but I can't really smell them while I'm putting them on my lips & I honestly can't really put my finger on what the smell is. It almost smells a bit like baby powder with something else thrown in there. Either way, it doesn't bother me. My only complaint about these & pretty much all Rimmel lip products is that they aren't sealed which is a bit....gross. This is why I make sure to get one from the back & I always open it to make sure that it doesn't look like it has been swatched in store. A positive though is that this color looks good with pretty much any eye look.

Well, those are my lip favorites of the moment. Thanks for stopping by!

Stay true & stay you...

Let's get started!

Hello to all of you fellow beauty lovers!

My name is Frankie & this is my new blog. I'm really excited to get this thing going! I have been bouncing around the idea of having my own blog for some time now but never actually have to courage to start one up...until now. I though that I would get things started with a fun little tag called "Would you rather?". Now, obviously since this is my first post no one tagged me but I don't think that you have to be tagged to do a tag. So, let's get started shall we?

1) Would you rather lose all of your mascaras, eyeliners, lipsticks, and lip glosses or lose all of your palettes and eyeshadows?
-- I'm a HUGE lip junkie so I would much prefer to lose all of my eyeshadow palettes. I do love those too but if something has to go it isn't going to be my lipsticks!

2) Would you rather chop off all your hair or never be able to cut it again?
-- I have chopped all of my hair off before & even though it wasn't the best look for me I would much rather have to chop it all off again than to never cut it again. I'm not trying to be Rapunzel.

 3) Would you rather have a coral cheek or a pink cheek?
-- I'm honestly not a big blush person because I naturally have quite a bit of color in my cheeks but if I was being forced to choose I would have to go with coral. My cheeks are naturally pink so maybe the coral can help tone that down a bit!

4)If you had $1,000 to spend, would you rather buy clothes or makeup?
-- I'm guessing that both isn't an option here. I would have to go with make-up. I could finally buy some of those high end products that I've been lusting after forever!

5)Would you rather apply lipstick as eyeliner or eyeliner as lipstick?
-- I feel like trying to apply lipstick as eyeliner would get a little messy so I'm going to have to go with eyeliner as lipstick. I have a hot pink eyeliner anyway so it works out.

   6) Would you rather only shop at MAC or Sephora?
-- This one is easy. I would much rather only shop at Sephora. They have tons of different brands there that I love. Besides, I know this is unheard of in the beauty world but I'm not a huge MAC fan. I have a few things from there that I do like but overall I'm not super impressed & think that there are brands at Sephora that are better. Sorry MAC fans!

    7) Would you rather only use one eyeshadow color or one lip color for the rest of your life?
-- Like I said before, I'm a total lip junkie type of girl so telling me that I could only use ONE lip color for the rest of my life would be heartbreaking. So I'm going to go with one eyeshadow color.

8)Would you rather wear winter clothes in the summer or summer clothes in the winter?
-- I live in Atlanta & anyone who has ever been this far down south knows that it gets SO hot here. If I tried to wear winter clothes in the summer I would die of heat stroke. So, summer clothes in the winter for sure.

9) Would you rather have dark nails or bright nails all year round?
-- Dark nails. I'm a fan of black polish & I think that you can make it work all year round.

10) Would you rather give up your favorite lip product or your favorite eye product?
-- Although it would be hard to go without my beloved mascara I've said it before & I'll say it again...I'm a lip junkie. I can't part with my lip products!

11)Would you rather only be able to wear your hair in a ponytail or a messy bun?
-- Messy bun. There is something about the way a ponytail swings back & forth as you walk that bugs the crap out of me!

12)  Would you rather never be able to paint your nails again or never use lip gloss?
-- I'm sure you have gotten the message by now that I like my lip products so I'm pretty sure that you can guess my answer here. I'd have to part with my nail polishes even though that would make me want to cry!

13) Would you rather shave your eyebrows and have none at all or Sharpie them in everyday?
-- Both of these options sound so horrible that I don't even want to think about it. However, if I HAD to choose one of them I guess maybe shave them off? Something tells me that would look better than having Sharpie on my face. Not that shaving them off would be super flattering either but whatever.

14) Would you rather live without makeup or nail polish?
-- Come on now, what do you think? I would much rather live without nail polish.

Well, that's it! That was actually more difficult than I though it would be. It's a good thing that it was just for fun & someone wasn't actually making me choose between these things. I'm fairly sure that I would have a breakdown. Haha.

Until next time....
Stay true & stay you.
