L.A. Colors 3 color eyeshadows

Hello fellow makeup junkies,

Today I want to talk to you about L.A. Colors' 3 color eyeshadows. According to the website these are "A trio of long-wearing eyeshadows in one chic palette. Three expertly coordinated shades can be worn alone or together to create a array of looks. Complete with dual ended applicator." There are 12 trios in this range total & I currently have 4 of them. Here is a link to them from the L.A. Colors website:

I found mine at the Dollar Tree & Dollar General. At both locations I only paid $1.00 which is a good deal. The Dollar General does typically have a better selection of L.A. Colors in general so if you want to try these or anything else from the brand they are your best bet.

Now lets take a look at the ones that I have.

Top Left: Iris
Top Right:Orchid
Bottom Left: Water Lily
Bottom Right: Magnolia

Now here are photos of each trio swatched without primer:

 Iris
This is a good one to get if you are into purples. The top shade is a mid-tone purple with just the slightest bit of blue in it, the middle one is more of a pinkish purple, & the bottom one is a dusty purple & my favorite from this trio.

 Orchid
This is a nice netural trio. The top shade is a bronze, the middle a light golden yellowish, & the bottom is a beautiful baby pink.

 Water Lily
This trio remind me of a mermaid & I think would be really nice for summer. The top shade is an almost minty blue if that makes sense, the middle is a super pretty pink with a hint of purple in it almost giving it a lilac feel, & the bottom shade is a very light blue to the point that it almost look white with a hint of blue flash.

Magnolia
This is my favorite trio so far. The top is a gorgeous coral shade that the camera just doesn't give justice to, the middle is an almost electric purple, & the bottom is a very light pastel yellow which is a great inner corner highlight.

As you can see these aren't the most pigmented shadows out there but I think they are really pretty especially considering these are only $1.00. All of the colors are shimmery but there isn't any actual chunks of glitter in any of the ones that I have.

Now here are photos each trio swatched over Rimmel's Exaggerate Undercover Shadow Primer:

 Iris

Orchid

Water Lily

Magnolia

As you can see they do have a bit more color pay off with a primer. The Rimmel primer does have a "glow" to it which works for these since they are already shimmery.

Now here are swatches of each trio over Milani's Shadow Eyez in Champagne Toast (which is a nude shimmery shade & almost blends into my skin tone):

Iris

Orchid

Water Lily

Magnolia

I defiantly recommend using these with a colored based because as you can see they have much better pay off with one.

I would recommend picking these up. I really like them & plan on getting a few more the next time I go to the Dollar General of stumble upon the at my Dollar Tree. L.A. Colors is a brand that I have enjoyed for years. They can be a little hit & miss but overall I don't think that they get enough credit. Like most other drugstore type brands they have really stepped their game up recently with the quality of their products not just with the eye shadows.

My favorite thing about these shadows? They are cruelty free! The entire L.A. Colors company is. Yeah for no animals being harmed!

I hope that you enjoyed today's post. Have you tried these trios or anything else from L.A. Colors lately?

Stay True & Stay You...
<3 Frankie
